The moving average is an average of the stock price over a certain period- A common technical indicator traders use on stock charts to see a stock’s price trend.
For example, the 20-day moving average is calculated by taking the price of the stock on each of the prior 20 days, then finding the average of those 20 prices.

A Nice Reversal.After falling 19.4% in
2022, the S&P 500 Index rallied 6.2% in January 2023. Since 1945, there have been five other years where the S&P 500 gained
more than 5% in January after trading down in the prior year. In those five years (1954, 1961, 1967,1975 and 2019), the S&P
500 rallied more than 10% from February through year end all five times.

NFL Quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement (for the second time) on 2/1/23, ending a career that spanned more than 20 years. From the time he first replaced Drew Bledsoe against the New York Jets on 9/23/01 and subsequently became the New England Patriots starter through his announced retirement, the S&P 500’s annualized total return with dividends reinvested was 9.12%, while the Nasdaq’s annualized total return was 11.55%…which coincidentally rounds to… 12!
